Massage oil or cream is used with smooth, gliding strokes. Swedish massage uses firm but gentle pressure to promote relaxation & ease muscle tension. A classic massage that will allow you to slip into a calm state of relaxation.
Shiatsu is practiced on a mat with client in loose-fitting, comfortable clothing. It uses body stretching to open the energetic channels, soften hard muscles to free nerves from muscle oppression, and ease the nervous system.

Amber Rose, BA LMT
As a massage therapist, Amber enjoys providing excellent care and results to her clients. She has effectively treated clients suffering from whiplash, low back pain, sciatica, knee injuries and tennis elbow. Her approach is gentle but firm.
Amber moved to Oregon from southern California, and has built a broad knowledge from her studies in osteology and biological anthropology. She earned her Bachelors Degree in Bioarchaeology in Long Beach, CA. Her passion for the human body continued through her fitness and yoga training, where she became proficient in understanding muscle movement and fascia.
Amber is a skilled massage therapist with an intuitive touch. She passed the National Certification Board for Therapeutic Massage & Bodywork Exam in 2023 and became a Licensed Massage Therapist (LMT) in the state of Oregon in 2024. She is continuously adding to her experience and knowledge.
James Hansen, LMT
Being a massage therapist, James has the goal of making informed, science-based decisions. Coming from a background in various sports, from gymnastics to cycling, he possesses a profound understanding of human performance and recovery. James has years of experience treating his own recovery and fitness improvement, as well as that of his teammates. He specializes in Sports Massage and can be an asset for everyday posture corrections or even achieving peak performance.
James graduated from COCC with an applied science degree in 2024 with “dean’s list” awards for each term he attended. He was quickly scouted to join the instructor staff at COCC before graduating.
His approach to massage is goal-oriented, and he is passionate about tracking clients’ progress. James provides the necessary tools for improvement both on and off his massage table, offering guidance in strength training and flexibility. He firmly believes in systemic muscular balance and often assesses flexibility and strength to address any imbalances and reduce the risk of injury.
