FAQs

What to Expect?

We'll start with a conversation to understand your needs and goals for the treatment. You are required to complete an intake form prior to your first session to inform your therapist of medical history. Depending on your goals, your therapist may test your mobility and/or nerve function. Expect to discuss any past or current injuries.

  • Dress down to a level that you are comfortable with. During your session, your therapist will use a sheet and blanket to cover your body, keeping areas unexposed. You will not be dressing or undressing while the therapist is in the room. Most clients remove all clothing before getting under the sheet and blanket on the table.

  • No. Clients are free to mentally checkout during a session, and are welcome to chat with their therapists. Depending on the bodywork you are receiving, communication may be necessary during treatment.

  • Your therapist will step out of the treatment room, then you can use the provided robe for coverage. We have a bathroom in close vicinity that you may use. Your therapist will wait outside the treatment room until you return to the table.

  • Be very specific about the issues you're experiencing or your goals. Keep open communication during the treatment about what you feel in your body. For example, you might say, "This spot you're on, I can feel all the way down my arm."

Also, keep in mind specific issues may use most of the session time. Addressing multiple issues might mean returning for additional specific work.

    5. Promotes Muscle Recovery: Research has shown that massage can help speed up muscle recovery after exercise by reducing inflammation and promoting muscle repair.

    6. Reduces Anxiety and Depression: Massage therapy has been found to reduce symptoms of anxiety and depression, likely due to its effects on stress hormones and neurotransmitters.
